Sometimes a net or line can be lost though (if you leave them out for more than 36-48 hours). The coordinate information I think is just there for flavor, but might be useful later? All the nets and such are shown on your map anyways so you will always see where each net or line is located. I don't think the coordinates are shown for the map. go pull the net early when it's green, or later when it went from blue and back to green).Īlso you can review your logbook to see how much extra money are you getting from gutting (or are you losing money because of poor gutting) as well as check how much bonus profit you get from reputation with the port as well as events like "High demand for haddock". or you want to collect that net when it's not blue (e.g. if your ship can take 10 000kg of fish and you are getting 25 000kg of fish when you pull the net then you want to either get a smaller net. Check the logbook to see if you catch more fish than you can carry. ![]() You can use logbook to see how much fish you catch. Maybe it affects the fish? I don't know :) ![]() ![]() Not sure if the weather makes a difference other than being giving a bit of atmosphere in the game and of course affecting visibility if it's rain or foggy. Take care of your net and you can use it forever :) However, net can get damaged in which case it needs to be repaired or buy a new one. The nets will give you a lot more fish on each haul and they don't cost anything to re-use. However, you can earn that money back really fast with "Sjarken" thanks to the larger cargo plus you can spend 20 000kr to buy a netfishing machine instead of the line fishing. You only need to have about 75 000kr in cash and the bank will allow you to take a loan large enough to purchase "Sjarken" which costs 450 000kr. It can hold more fish (10 000kg when fully upgraded) and you can hire a crew member which means you can start training a crew member to get better skills too. Personally I think you should get into the next boat "Sjarken" as soon as you can. The better radar you have the bigger the radius is, thus exploration goes faster. This means whenever you sail into an unexplored area (marked as grey on map) you reveal the map in a certain radius around your ship. The Radar increases your exploration distance. Sorry if the answers are obvious but to me, not so :) Final one, kind of a sub-question to the last one but the logbook fishing info stores the co-ordinates of the line, is there a way to see co-ordinates in the map view so you can revisit these locations? Similar with the logbook info on your fishing and sales, how do you use this info in game to change what you do? Does the weather have a bearing on the game? I see and view the forecasts but don't know how to use the info it gives to fish better? When you purchase another boat, do you keep the old one and can you switch between them? Should I invest my earnings in upgrading the first boat, ignore it and save money for boat two, or something in between those points? I have about 230k and have upgraded storage once, engine once, and radar. ![]() So I'm pottering about in the starting boat, repeating a cycle of laying four lines close to home, sailing about (but not going too far and not really opening up the map in any way) and then hauling.
